Manitoba Liberals promise to expand broadband Internet service across the province if elected as government.

Leader Jon Gerrard said his party would bring high-speed connectivity to every community in the province by 2015 if his party wins the Oct. 4 election.

Gerrard said broadband is essential to education and economic development.

The initiative would cost $1.9 million in the first year, although it's unclear how much more money would be needed after that.
