A 10-year-old Winnipeg singing sensation who has rocketed to internet fame is in California taping a segment for an upcoming episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, relatives said Monday.
Maria Aragon's older sister, Linger, confirmed the pending appearance on the popular talk show in a telephone call from Burbank, Calif., to CBC.
She was unsure when the segment would air.
Maria shot to fame late last week after pop star Lady Gaga posted a link on Twitter to a YouTube video of the little girl singing one of her songs.
"Can't stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future," Gaga tweeted on Friday about Maria's version of her song, and she included a link to the video.
Posted Feb. 16, the video shows the young girl playing keyboard and belting out Born This Way. It has since been viewed more than 10 million times.
Gaga has also invited the young singer to join her in a duet at a Toronto concert this year.
