He was the Manitoba Liberals' candidate for Winnipeg's Southdale constituency for less than 24 hours, but Jamie Hall's comments about women on social media have spawned dozens of tweets in response.

Hall stepped down as the party's candidate a day after announcing he would run. Almost immediately after the launch of his campaign, his past comments on Twitter about "whores" and "skanks" surfaced.

Liberal Party Leader Rana Bokhari, who was silent on Hall's future yesterday when the story broke, on Thursday admitted her party had dropped the ball when it came to vetting the candidate.

Here is a sampling of some of the many comments on Twitter about Hall's comments.

Today, Hall's Twitter account is closed.
