Fire at Richmond West home sends 2 to hospital

Fire crews put out a blaze at a home in Richmond West near the south Perimeter Highway early Tuesday afternoon.

Two people were taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a home in Richmond West.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Isleview Place east of Waverley Street at about 2 p.m. after reports of a fire.

Fire trucks and an ambulance were seen at the home, which had charred marks around the front door. Three windows were broken and also had soot marks around them.

Two people were taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a home in Richmond West.

The living room was completely gutted in the fire, fire Platoon Chief Doug Martin said.

Five people were home when the blaze broke out, including two children and three adults, one of whom is an elderly woman.

The two people in hospital have undetermined injuries.

The cause is under investigation.
