RAW: Churchill's Dave Daley talks about his sled dogs

Duration 2:15
Born and bred "Churchillian" Dave Daley talks to Information Radio's Marcy Markusa about his sled dog puppies and the challenges of keeping his dogs healthy and happy.

CBC Manitoba's Information Radio has packed up the show and moved it north — way north!

Marcy Markusa broadcast live from the town of Churchill on Feb. 24, talking to local residents and business owners about their town.

One of the people she met was Dave Daely, a self-proclaimed "Churchillian" who worries that his kids and grandkids don't see a future for themselves in this northern community.

Daley introduced Marcy to some of his sled dog puppies, who will one day pull mushers across thousands of kilometres of frozen tundra (see video above).

On Thursday, Feb. 26, the show will be live in Thompson, Man., broadcasting from the Tim Hortons at 300 Mystery Lake Rd. Listeners are welcome to join Marcy during the broadcast, from 6 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.

Here are some pictures of the things we're doing and people we'll be talking to.
