Man rescued from house fire in Winnipeg's North End
A man was rescued by firefighters, who carried him from the second floor of a smoke-filled home Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to the two-storey rooming house on Manitoba Avenue just after 4 a.m. and most of the residents got out of the building safely.
But during a search inside, firefighters found the man in a suite, unable to get out on his own.
He was carried down the stairs and sent to hospital for smoke inhalation, fire officials said, adding he is listed in stable condition
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still being determined but officials believe it started in the second level of the house, which had four suites in it.
