Winnipeg records 2nd homicide in 2 days

Winnipeg police are investigating another homicide.

Winnipeg police are investigating another homicide in the city.

Officers were called at 11 p.m. Tuesday to a stabbing on Kennedy Street, between Sargent and Cumberland avenues, in the Central Park neighbourhood.

Officers found a man with serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital but died Wednesday morning.

The victim's age and name have not yet been released to the public. Police have yet to notify his family.

Members of the Homicide Unit are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information to call them at 204-986-6508 or phone Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477). 

It's the second homicide in as many days and the 24th of the year. A man was found dead on Belmont Avenue, off Main Street, on Tuesday morning.

Police said Tuesday that Winnipeg has averaged 25 homicides annually over the previous few years.
