CFL fines Alouettes linebacker for illegal hit on Bomber QB Chris Streveler

Montreal Alouettes linebacker Henoc Muamba, who played three seasons for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, was fined Wednesday by the CFL for an illegal hit on Bombers QB Chris Streveler.

The CFL handed Montreal Alouettes linebacker Henoc Muamba and Edmonton Eskimos defensive back Aaron Grymes maximum fines Wednesday for separate spearing incidents last week.

Muamba was fined for spearing quarterback Chris Streveler of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers while Grymes was penalized for a similar incident involving Hamilton Tiger-Cats receiver Brandon Banks.

Muamba previously played three seasons in Winnipeg, suiting up for the Bombers from 2011 until 2014.

As per league policy, the amounts of the fines were not disclosed.
