3 shots were fired in the Starbucks at Canad Inns
The Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg was on lockdown for nearly an hour Sunday night after a shooting at a Starbucks attached to the hospital.
Police said three shots were fired in the Starbucks in the Canad Inns at 700 William Avenue around 10 p.m.
Two men, one with a small-calibre handgun, ran into the coffee shop chasing a third man, according to police.
The man being chased ran behind the counter while the man with the gun fired three rounds. All three men fled the area.
All of the men were about 19 years old, police said.
Following the shooting, the front doors of the hospital were taped closed and the street filled with multiple police cars. Officers using flashlights searched the ground while some others searched the coffee shop.
The lockdown was lifted just before 11 p.m.
