Gun left in Winnipeg taxi, police need help identifying suspect

The investigation into a gun being left in a Winnipeg taxicab has run dry and now police are asking for the public’s help.

The investigation into a gun being left in a Winnipeg taxicab has run dry and now police are asking for the public's help identifying the suspect.

The man got into the cab during the early morning of Feb. 1, in the first-100 block of St. Anne's Road. He was driven to the 300 block of Blake Street, in the Weston area.

It was later discovered he left behind a loaded firearm, police said.

Despite a lengthy investigation, police have not yet been able to identity the suspect, who is described as being 22 or 23 years old and about 5-foot-4 with a medium build. He also had a small moustache and was wearing a tuque, bomber-style jacket and jeans.

He also has a tattoo on the top of his right hand.
