More than 1,000 Roman Catholics took to the streets in Winnipeg this morning for Good Friday.

The annual Way of the Cross march brings members of the faith out into the streets to mark the death of Jesus Christ. A six-foot cross was carried by faithful members of the church from St. Peter's Church down Keewatin Street.

The theme of this year's march was "mercy." Archbishop of Winnipeg Reverend Richard Gagnon led the march.
