Police arrest 2 suspects after man killed in Gilbert Plains, Man.

RCMP have arrested two suspects in connection to the fatal stabbing of a man in Gilbert Plains, Man. Saturday night.

The arrests put an end to manhunt that had seen police warn people in the area to be on the lookout for for a man and woman they said were suspects in the killing.

Earlier Sunday, police said the pair were evading officers and had attempted to steal vehicles in an effort to flee the area.

Area residents were warned not to approach the pair.

Dauphin RCMP were called a residence at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday, where they found the man, 36, with stab wounds.

Emergency services personnel treated him but he succumbed to his injuries on scene.

In a release Sunday evening RCMP said a 39-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman had been taken into custody.

The names of the suspects will not be released until charges are formally laid.
