Fire damages 2 garages in Winnipeg's Elmwood area

Two garages in Winnipeg were charred and now boarded up after a fire raged through one and spread to the other.

Emergency crews were called around 11:50 p.m. Sunday night to the 200-block of Chalmers Avenue.

A garage was fully engulfed and the flames had started spreading to a neighbouring one.

No vehicles were in the garages.

No one was hurt, according to fire officials, who didn't yet have a damage estimate.
