The stars of the hit CBC-TV show Degrassi High came to Winnipeg over 25 years ago and talked about the show and how their characters have changed as they went from junior high to high school.

In this interview that aired in January 1990, 24 Hours Late Night host Arvel Gray spoke with Degrassi stars Maureen McKay (Michelle), Chrissa Erodotou (Diana), Keith White (Tim) and Stefan Brogren (Snake).

The actors talked about the changes that their characters encountered as they transitioned from Degrassi Junior High to Degrassi High.

"We have a few new issues. We've dealt with abortion and divorce and driving," said McKay.

"Just all the subjects kids go through in high school," said White. "There's so much more that we do than in junior high."

The cast members were in Winnipeg to take part in Schmockey Night, an annual fundraiser for charity.

"Have you ever done anything like schmockey night before in your entire lives?" Gray asked the actors.

"No," they replied, laughing.

"Definitely looking to it, though. we're ready to go," said Brogren.
