Swarms of kids and parents gathered at FortWhyte Alive over the weekend to celebrate Earth Day.
The annual international day of eco-awareness actually took place Friday, but that didn't keep the crowds from taking part in fun, green activities at FortWhyte Sunday.
CBC Manitoba meteorologist John Sauder gave kids a run-down on how to understand weather patterns, and Kids' CBC host Patty Sullivan was also on hand. She and television rock star puppy Bookaboo put on a story-telling session for the young ones in the audience.

The centre, now in its 50th year, hosted entertaining workshops designed to teach kids about environmental stewardship.
"We learned about pollution-ing [sic]. Pollution-ing is not very good for the earth," one boy told CBC News.
"When there's garbage on the ground, it can be a risk to animals or humans, so it's a risk to everyone and it's good to clean up," another youngster added.
