Man wanted after shots fired, woman assaulted in Brandon home
Police say they've arrested a man and woman in connection with two incidents involving firearm and assault
Police in Brandon have charged a man and woman in connection with two separate incidents in the city involving a firearm on Saturday, but a third suspect is still at large.
Officers were called to a home at about 5:30 p.m. after two men and a woman got into a dispute with another couple inside the residence in the 800 block of 9th Street.
Police say a 30-year-old woman assaulted the other woman with a set of keys while one of the men pointed a shotgun at residents in the home.
The 29-year-old male suspect fired his rifle as he left the home with the other two suspects and nobody was injured, police said in a news release.
A short time later police said the same suspect armed with the rifle went to an apartment in the 200 block of 15th Street where a woman was threatened by him and another man armed with a knife.
The victim was locked inside a bedroom but she eventually escaped and called police.
Police say both incidents are related. The female suspect from the 9th Street incident was found and arrested a short time later. She was charged with assault with a weapon, public mischief and breach of recognizance.
The man involved in both incidents still hasn't been found. He's facing a number of firearms related offences, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, and threatening to cause injury or death and theft under $5,000, police said.
Police are still investigating the second man's involvement.
Police believe the incidents are not random and everyone involved is known to each other.
The investigation is ongoing.
