Winnipeg fire crews were called to a house fire on the 800 block of Lyon Street around 9:50 p.m.
The single-story home was ablaze and firefighters had to force their way in, fire officials said. The woman was found unconscious inside.
She was taken to hospital in critical condition but it has since been upgraded to stable, police said.
