The crash happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 6 near Road 86N in the Rural Municipality of Woodlands.
The northbound car crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the truck, according to RCMP, who say the vehicles then erupted in flames.
The driver of the car, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was pulled to safety by passers-by who stopped to help, and was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
