Premier Greg Selinger joined his party's executive meeting via phone on Saturday morning and even though he was physically absent, the mutiny against him took centre stage.

President for the NDP executive Ellen Olfert came out of the meeting and said the executive stood in solidarity behind the premier, but that sentiment did not last.

Moments after Olfert made the comment, two executive members who called on the premier to resign, Becky Barrett and Darlene Dziewit, left the meeting. Both women said they have not changed their minds and still want him gone.

According to Olfert, those women will not be punished for speaking out against the premier. She hinted they had support on the executive.

When asked if others on the executive want Selinger gone, Olfert pointed again to the fact that Barrett and Dziewit have not been punished for speaking out against the premier.

"The fact that they're not being disciplined, I think says it all," Olfert said.
