Section of eastbound Ellice shuts down for more than a month

Roadwork along a stretch of Ellice Avenue will completely shut the route off to eastbound traffic until after the September long weekend.

Eastbound Ellice between Erin and Arlington streets closed at 9 a.m. CT Sunday and will remain that way until Sept. 6, the City of Winnipeg said in a news release.

A single westbound lane will remain open during construction.

The city advises motorists to find alternate routes and asks bus riders to check Winnipeg Transit's website for rerouting and schedule information.
