If you thought you had missed your chance to experience the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s (WAG) Salvador Dali exhibit, you’re in luck.

The WAG's Dali Up Close exhibit was originally slated to finish Jan. 31. But on Tuesday, the gallery announced it will be extending the showcase until Feb. 22.

The Dali exhibits brought in huge numbers to the WAG last fall, breaking single-day attendance records with 4,000 people passing through its doors on the exhibit's opening day on Sept. 27.

“Manitoba’s response to Dalí has been terrific!” Stephen Borys, WAG Director and CEO, said in a release Tuesday.

“We’re thrilled to see the record crowds for the first major exhibition of Salvador Dalí in the province, alongside one of Canada’s finest European and British collections. For that reason we wanted to offer Winnipeggers and Manitobans a few more weeks to see and enjoy this blockbuster exhibition package.”

The WAG said more than 30,000 people took in the Dali exhibit between September and January.

The art gallery also announced it is extending its Masterbrooks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery exhibit until Feb. 22, which features the works of Carr, Dali, Gainsborough, Freud and Turner.
