A woman from Rivers, Man., has died after a minivan and semi-truck collided north of Brandon on Friday morning.

RCMP said it appears a southbound minivan crossed the centre line, colliding with the side of a northbound semi-trailer on Highway 10, near Provincial Road 353, about 15 kilometres north of Brandon.

It happened at around 11:45 a.m. Friday.

The 55-year-old Rivers woman driving the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene, RCMP said. A passenger, a man also from Rivers, received non-life threatening injuries.

The man driving the semi wasn't hurt, according to RCMP.

Police are still investigating the crash but don't believe alcohol was a factor. Police said it appears everyone was wearing a seatbelt.

Traffic was detoured around the scene Friday afternoon.
