The crash happened at McPhillips Street and Redwood Avenue around 2:45 a.m. All southbound lanes of McPhillips, starting at Mountain Avenue, have been blocked since the collision and remain that way.

According to the police, officers "were involved in an incident" that culminated in the crash.

The IIU confirmed police tried to pull over a vehicle but it sped off. The pursuit didn't last long, however, ending about a block and a half later where the suspect's car crashed with another one.
