Chef Ben Kramer treated shoppers at the Downtown Farmers' Market to a live cooking demonstration on Thursday afternoon. Chef Kramer made a Cold Ramen Noodle Bowl, using locally-made pork sausage and in season vegetables. Many of the ingredients were available at the market.

"It's basically a blend of a ramen soup and a noodle salad," explained Chef Kramer. "I've added collard greens, which in my opinion is the new kale."

Chef Kramer's recipe makes a great office lunch, though the Chef recommended layering the ingredients in a mason jar to keep everything fresh and crisp.

CBC Manitoba's Music for Lunch also featured R&B rock group The Noble Thiefs and CBC Winnipeg News' Marjorie Dowhos. Music for Lunch is back next week at Manitoba Hydro Place (360 Portage Ave) with Winnipeg musician Renée Lamoureux performing and SMITH Restaurant's Nick Paquin demonstrating Beet Bruchetta.
