Orange Shirt Day comes to RBC Convention Centre
Orange Shirt Day in Winnipeg | September 30
On September 30th, 2024, Winnipeggers are invited to the RBC Convention Centre to observe Orange Shirt Day, coinciding with the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Orange Shirt Day is a day to remember the painful history of residential schools in Canada. It honours the survivors, the children who went missing, and the families affected. This year marks the 4th annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation since it was established as a federal holiday in 2021. The event will feature a powwow, guest speakers, music, and local vendors.

9:00 am - 11:00 am: Orange shirts handed out from Oodena Celebration Circle at The Forks.
10:00 am - 10:30 am: Pipe Ceremony
10:30 am - 11:00 am: Opening Prayer
11:00 am - 1:00 pm: Healing Walk to RBC Convention Centre, 375 York Ave, Winnipeg
1:00 pm - 1:30 pm: Grand Entry
1:30 pm - 2:00pm: Opening Prayer
