The Winnipeg Blue Bombers kicked off the start of CFL free agency Tuesday by making a one-year deal with Canadian receiver Gavin Cobb.
The move was announced 14 minutes into the free-agent period.
Cobb joins the Bombers after spending the last two seasons with the Edmonton Elks, recording 18 catches for 308 yards and two touchdowns in 29 regular-season games.
Cobb also returned 20 punts for 211 yards and 20 kickoffs for 428 yards.
Shortly after that signing, Winnipeg agreed to terms with American receiver Jerreth Sterns on a one-year deal.
Sterns spent the last two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, recording 83 catches for 941 yards and three TDs over 23 regular-season contests.
The Bombers later added Canadian defensive back Josh Hagerty, who spent the 2024 season with the Elks, and American running back/kick returner Peyton Logan, who wore Calgary Stampeders colours for the past three seasons.
Hagerty, who was a Toronto Argonaut from 2021-23 and part of the team's 2022 Grey Cup championship squad, signed on for a one-year deal with Winnipeg.
He has appeared in 32 career games with Edmonton and Toronto, registering 23 defensive tackles, 26 more on special teams and one forced fumble.
Logan, who inked a two-year deal with the Bombers, appeared in 14 games for the Stampeders last year, rushing 61 times for 355 yards and one touchdown and adding 23 receptions for 121 yards.
He led the Stamps in both punt returns (40 for 539 yards and one touchdown) and kickoff returns (28 for 635 yards).
In 36 games over three seasons in Calgary, he amassed 889 rushing yards and five touchdowns, 42 receptions for 330 yards, and one touchdown on both punt and kickoff returns.
He was named the Stampeders' most outstanding rookie in 2022.
Just before the start of free agency, the Blue Bombers signed veteran Canadian long-snapper Mike Benson to a one-year extension.
The '25 campaign will be the five-foot-nine, 245-pound Winnipeg native's fifth with the club and 12th in the CFL.
The Bombers also experienced loss, however.
The team lost defensive lineman Miles Fox and linebacker Brian Cole II — both Americans — and Canadian offensive lineman Liam Dobson to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Fox had three tackles in three regular-season appearances in 2024 while Cole recorded 28 total tackles (24 on defence), an interception and forced fumble in 11 regular-season contests.
