CBC Manitoba celebrates its annual charity drive in support of local food banks on Friday with a day full of live performances.

Harvesting Hope spreads stories of cheer for all to hear on CBC Radio One 89.3 FM, CBC Winnipeg News at 6 p.m. and CBC.ca/Manitoba on Friday, Dec. 2.

Hear live performances by local musicians and heart-warming stories of those in need. Follow along on social media using the hashtag #CBCHarvestHope.

Monetary donations will be accepted via the toll-free phone line until 8 p.m. CT on Friday. Online donations can continue through the weekend until Sunday night.

DID YOU KNOW? FEEDING MANITOBA FAMILIES FACTS

  1. Feed a family of four for a day when you donate $12 to Winnipeg Harvest.
  2. A donation of $20 buys 80 jars of peanut butter.
  3. About $50 buys enough food for Winnipeg Harvest to feed a senior for three months.
  4. One hundred dollars buys enough food to feed a family of four for two months.
  5. Donating $150 let's Winnipeg Harvest make 3,000 bowls of hot soup.

CBC ORNAMENT GIFT

When you donate $100 or more to CBC Manitoba's Harvesting Hope, you will receive a "Love CBC Manitoba" Christmas ornament to hang on your tree. 

Ornaments can be picked up after Dec. 12 at CBC Manitoba, which is located at 541 Portage Ave.
