RCMP nab 3 teens in home south of Winnipeg, charge them with break-in
A trio of teen boys face break-and-enter-related charges after they were caught inside a home.
RCMP were called Sunday afternoon by someone who saw three people going into a house that was still under construction in La Salle, a small community just south of Winnipeg.
Officers responded and found the boys — a 17-year-old and 15-year-old boy from Starbuck, along with a 16-year-old from Sanford — inside.
They have since been released from police custody to their parents with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
The RCMP are using the incident as a reminder about how the general public can help fight crime.
"Reporting criminal activity occurring in your community to police as it happens greatly increases the ability police have to arrest criminals and help make your communities safer," a news release from RCMP said.
