Man with child in vehicle arrested for drunk driving in Brandon

Police in Brandon say a man who had a child in his vehicle blew three times the legal limit on a breathalyzer.

Police in Brandon say a man who had a child in his vehicle blew three times the legal limit on a breathalyzer.

Police stopped his vehicle on 18th Street N., just south of the Trans-Canada Highway, at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday after officers saw it was being driven erratically.

Police said the driver showed signs of being impaired and breath samples later showed he was three times the legal limit.

A child was a passenger in the vehicle.

The 38-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving and released with a promise he appear for a court date next week.

The child was turned over to a relative.
