RCMP arrested three men accused of breaking into a Manitoba home with a gun, stealing some items and assaulting the man who lived there on Wednesday morning.

Shortly after 10 a.m., police got a call about an armed break-and-enter at a home on Tower Road in the rural municipality of Oakland-Wawanesa, south of Brandon.

Three people entered the home and assaulted the lone male resident before fleeing on foot with some items from the house. One of the people had a gun.

Police got a description of their vehicle and RCMP stopped a vehicle on the highway. The one man inside the vehicle was taken into custody.

Another man was found on foot north of the home and a third was also apprehended nearby, police said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
