The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes and Toronto Argonauts swapped a series of players and draft picks Sunday.

Winnipeg has sent quarterback Drew Willy to Toronto (5-6) in exchange for defensive back TJ Heath, a first round 2017 draft pick and a third round draft pick in 2018.

The Bombers have also acquired quarterback Kevin Glenn from Montreal (3-8) in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2017 draft.

"The opportunity to acquire a first round pick next year along with a player we have really liked this season in TJ Heath, and an experienced quarterback in Kevin Glenn was something we needed to strongly evaluate," Bombers general manager Kyle Walters said in a statement.

"Ultimately, for a variety of factors, we felt this was the right move for our football team, both short- and long-term. We sincerely thank Drew Willy for his hard work, professionalism and dedication to our program over the past two plus seasons," Walters added in a statement.

Glenn played for Winnipeg from 2004 to 2008, and was then sent to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He has since quarterbacked the Calgary Stampeders, Ottawa Redblacks, B.C. Lions, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Alouettes.

He remains third in all-time passing (18,116 yards) and fifth in all-time passing touchdowns for the Blue and Gold. He was named Most Outstanding Player in the CFL's East Division in 2007.

Willy leaves Winnipeg after more than two seasons (2014-2016) with the Bombers.

Meanwhile Heath, currently in his first season, joins the Bombers (7-4) at a time when the team is riding a six-game winning streak following back to back to wins against the Roughriders.
