Blue Bombers show off new uniforms
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have unveiled a new look, abandoning their white away-game jerseys in favour of gold.
The team showed off the new jerseys, which include a new 'W' logo, at a news conference on Tuesday.
While the Blue and Gold will continue to wear dark blue jerseys for home games, they will wear new gold-coloured jerseys at games away from Winnipeg, according to team brass.
"We are very excited about the new look of our team and we know our fans will be too," Bombers president and CEO Garth Buchko said in a release.
The Blue Bombers' latest logo is actually a update of an old logo that dates back to the early 1960s.
The bold block 'W' graced the helmets of Bomber players as they won Grey Cups in 1962, 1984, 1988 and 1990.
It was replaced by a lightning bolt logo in 1995, but the team announced last month that it's returning to its roots with the 'W' logo, albeit with an updated look.
