Several passengers on a Winnipeg Transit bus required medical treatment after someone onboard discharged bear spray.

According to police, a 20-year-old man on the bus was confronted by another male just after 3 p.m. Monday and the chemical was sprayed.

The bus was in the area of Sherbrook Street and Sargent Avenue at the time.

A number of other passengers were indirectly affected by the spray and were treated at the scene.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, which is still under investigation, police said.
