9 students sent to hospital after Winnipeg school bus crash
A school bus crash on Wednesday morning left some Winnipeg high school students with injuries.
Nine students were treated for minor injuries after a minivan slammed into the side of the bus on St. Anne's Road just after 8:30 a.m.
The students on the bus were from Centre scolaire Léo-Rémillard, a Grades 9-12 school in the Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine.
"All our students are OK … but as a precautionary measure they've all been sent to Children's Hospital," said vice principal Nicole Baudry.
She expects some of the students will be rattled by the experience, so the division is providing counsellors and other resources for those who need it.
"The shock — it's really difficult for students, afterwards," she said, adding the family that was in the van was OK.
Driving conditions around the city have been poor due to snow and ice.
