A nine-month police investigation into the Manitoba Warriors street gang in Winnipeg has resulted in charges against 57 people and taken drugs, guns, other weapons and ammunition off the streets.

Project Falling Star started in April 2013 and focused on "drug cells" in the Manitoba Warriors street gang.

On Jan. 16, 2014, police conducted a search warrant in the 700 block of Main Street and seized numerous items — shotguns, handguns, pellet guns, bulletproof vests, machetes, ammunition — that were put display Friday for reporters.

The 57 members or associates charged range in age from 16 to 51.

Warrants have also been issued for two more people wanted for cocaine trafficking.

"The Manitoba Warriors have been known to promote illicit drug sales and commit numerous acts of violence that is linked to the territorial disputes related to drug distribution networks," stated a release from the police.

  • 824 rocks of crack cocaine with a street value of $16,480.
  • 2.5 ounces of powder cocaine with a street value of $4,500.
  • 3 grams methamphetamine with a street value of $600.
  • 140 grams of marijuana with a street value of $1,400.

  • Loaded sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun
  • Stevens loaded sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun
  • Sawed-off 12-gauge break action shotgun

  • Maverick 12-gauge shotgun​
  • Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun
  • Winchester model 34 33-30 rifle
  • .22 calibre rifle​
  • Cooey model 38-22 calibre rifle
  • 12-gauge pump-action shotgun
  • 12-gauge shotgun
  • 2 pellet guns
  • Air soft gun
  • Stock and barrel for a Maverick 12-gauge shotgun
