2 women dead after SUV collides with tree in Portage la Prairie, Man.

Two women are dead after an SUV collided with a tree in Portage la Prairie early Sunday morning.

RCMP said at around 2:20 a.m. the vehicle was allegedly speeding southbound on Crescent Avenue when it crossed over the centre line and hit the tree.

The 22-year-old driver and 20-year-old passenger died at the scene.

Portage la Prairie RCMP and a forensic collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
