$2,500 reward for rustled cattle

A rancher from the Carman area is offering a $2,500 reward after at least 22 of his cattle were stolen.

Orvil McCutcheon was on holidays in Hawaii when a neighbour called to say about half of his herd had been stolen.

"It snowed that night, and there's snow tracks, and we could see where they had opened the gates," he said.

"It looks like they put them in the small holding pen, they turned the gate … go out the side and into the truck. In 10 minutes they could have been out of the yard and gone."

McCutcheon says the missing feeder calves were worth $17,000 to $20,000, and he did not have them insured. He had been planning to sell them this spring.

RCMP have told McCutcheon they have no leads in the rustling case.

The rancher is offering the reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible for the theft.
