E-learning in Ontario: Follow this family as they adjust to school at home (Day 2)
This week, Waterloo Region District School Board made e-learning more formal for students (and their parents.) Teachers are sending daily assignments and even feedback to kids and their parents.
Kitchener couple Carin Lowerison and Matt White are among many people in Ontario juggling the roles of parent, worker and now teacher amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.
They have three girls in elementary school: Berkeley, age 11, Heidrun, age 9, and Clementine, age 5. CBC Kitchener-Waterloo is following their family as they navigate home-based education.
But as Carin and Matt are discovering, managing screen time is more difficult than ever as communication, assignments — even the family's decompression time together — involves time in front of a computer, tablet or TV.
Here's a look at Day 2.
