Two people caught on surveillance cameras following suspicious Rockwood fire not suspects: Police

A suspicious structure fire happened in Rockwood on July 20 and other mischiefs also happened to the same property two days later.

A pool house was destroyed in the fire but the home was not damaged

Wellington OPP have identified two people in a photo taken with a surveillance camera and say they are not suspects in a suspicious fire in Rockwood.

Wellington County OPP and Guelph-Eramosa fire crews responded to a structure fire on Main Street in Rockwood on July 20. A pool house was destroyed but the nearby home was not damaged and there were no injuries.

The property owners returned to their home on July 21, police said. The next morning on July 22, the homeowners discovered someone had trespassed on the property and caused further damage.

Police said later that afternoon a surveillance camera caught two people trespassing on the property.

On Tuesday, the OPP issued a release saying the force was looking to speak to the two people. Later the same they, officers indicated they had spoken with the people, who are minors, and they are not suspects.
