Waterloo Region reacts to Rob Ford's death

Waterloo Region residents shared photos of themselves with former Toronto mayor Rob Ford online after news of his death broke on Tuesday morning.
Ford died at age 46 after a battle with cancer, according to a statement from his chief of staff, Dan Jacobs.

Ford was known for posing for photos with Torontonians — and everyone else too — after he sprang to worldwide fame in May of 2013, when the Toronto Star and Gawker published stories that reported the existence of a video that showed Ford smoking crack cocaine.
Ford initially denied smoking crack, but later admitted it in a live news conference outside his office in November 2013.
He became a worldwide celebrity, a favourite topic of late night comedians, and even appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's show.
