Waterloo Region, Guelph MPs safe after Ottawa shooting

Local Waterloo Region MPs, and Guleph MP Frank Valeriote are safe after the shooting in Ottawa at the National War Memorial and on Parliament Hill on Wednesday.

Local Waterloo Region MPs, and Guelph MP Frank Valeriote are safe after the shooting at the National War Memorial and Parliament Hill on Wednesday. 

Some MPs took to Twitter to announce they were ok.

Minister of State (Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario) and Cambridge MP Gary Goodyear:

An assistant for Gary Goodyear also confirmed he was safe. 

Kitchener Conestoga MP Harold Albrecht: 

Assistants for both Kitchener-Waterloo MP Peter Braid and Kitchener Centre MP Stephen Woodworth confirmed that the MPs were safe. Woodworth's assistant confirmed that he was not on Parliament Hill when the shooting occurred.
Guelph MP Frank Valeriote:

Frank Valeriote's assistant Jeff Valois confirmed that both he and the MP are in lockdown, though in separate places on the Hill.
