20-year-old Toronto man charged in Waterloo pellet gun shootings
Waterloo Region police have charged a 20-year-old man in connection with three BB/pellet gun woundings on Labour Day, 2015.
Three pedestrians in University district wounded in Sept. 7 shootings
A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with three BB/pellet gun woundings on Labour Day, 2015, according to a release from Waterloo Regional Police Services.
A Toronto resident attending Wilfrid Laurier University will be in court Wednesday to face:
- Two counts of Assault with a Weapon.
- Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public.
- Aggravated Assault.
According to police, at separate times on the holiday Monday three pedestrians were walking along King Street in Waterloo's University district when they were struck with projectiles from a gas-powered pellet pistol.
Shooting timeline
Police say the three incidents took place at various times on Labour Day, Sept. 7, 2015:
- 1:00 a.m., a 19-year-old woman was wounded in the collarbone.
- 2:00 a.m., a 19-year-old woman was wounded in the wrist.
- 5:30 p.m., a 19-year-old woman suffered serious injury to an eye. She is still receiving medical treatment for that wound.
Police have not said whether these incidents are related to an earlier BB/pellet shooting in August, where a driver was shot in the head on Union Street near Moore Ave.
