For the second year running, Waterloo region has raised more than $10,000 in support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, through CBC Kitchener-Waterloo's Sound of the Season campaign.
The final tally for Sounds of the Season 2018 is $10,799.10 — $400 more than the previous year.
Physical donations, which were accepted at CBC K-W's live show from TheMuseum in downtown Kitchener on Dec. 7 and at the station's King Street location down the street, have not yet all been weighed and measured.
As well, 795 lbs of food was collected.
The food bank says it's able to provide three meals for every $1 donation, so the money raised in this campaign will provide more than 30,000 meals.
