University consulting with students about their mental wellbeing
The University of Guelph is taking a new approach to cater to the mental health needs of its students.
The university held "stakeholder labs" to engage students on their experiences and their wellness needs.
The labs were interactive group sessions designed to get students talking, and provide the school with a roadmap for crafting solutions these issues.
The labs, held Monday morning, come after months of public outcry from students at the university, about the mental wellbeing of its students. The university said students who were unable to make it to the sessions will have other opportunities to provide feedback in the future.
Four students at the University of Guelph have died by suicide this school year alone.
