Among them were Megan Follows, of Anne of Green Gables fame, and Antoni Cimolino, who is now artistic director of Stratford Festival.
Follows and Cimolino played opposite one another in the festival's 1992 mounting of the Shakespeare classic. They graciously agreed to reprise those roles in an interview with The Morning Edition host Craig Norris.
"As a Montague [Romeo is] an enemy to the Capulets and he crashes the ball," said Cimolino, setting up the piece.
"And sees the most beautiful creature he's ever seen in his life. The most beautiful girl. And he, while he still has a mask on, is able to go over and take her by the hand."
