Guelph bank robbery marks 5th time local Scotiabank branches targeted in 1 month
Guelph bank robbed Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., only 1 day after Cambridge robbery
A Guelph Scotiabank was robbed Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., only one day after a Scotiabank in Cambridge was targeted.
There were no injuries, but two people were taken to hospital for "precautionary reasons" after Wednesday's robbery.
Police say officers were called to the ScotiaBank located on Kortright Road W., for report of a gunpoint robbery.
The suspects are described as men with slender builds and wearing dark clothing. They had their faces covered "and at least one handgun was brandished."
They demanded cash, received an undisclosed amount of money and then "it is believed that they left the scene in a black, four-door sedan," police said.
Investigators are asking for anyone who witnessed the robbery or might have dashcam footage from the area between noon and 12:45 p.m. to contact police at 519-824-1212 ext. 7226.
