Rockwood photo a winner in annual Greenbelt contest
Wintery scene of a canoeist on the Eramosa River one of several 'general winners'
A canoeist on a snowy Eramosa River near Rockwood taken by Toronto photographer David Coulson is one of the winning images of this year's Greenbelt photo contest.
The image will be part of an exhibit at McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ont.
The wintery photo was one of a number of "general winners."
Coulson also took the title of overall winner for his image of a person feeding a chickadee in Rouge Park.
A photo of Sherman Falls in Hamilton by photographer Jack Starret of Collingwood won the people's choice award.
The winning images were selected by a jury of professional photographers and creative employees from the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation, the Professional Photographers of Canada and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
"These winning photos, and all of the submissions, showcase the diversity of experiences and opportunities in the Greenbelt," Edward McDonnell, CEO of the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation, said in a release.
The photos will be on display at McMichael until July 15.
