Flooding in Waterloo region closes roads, highways
As the rain and snow melt continues Wednesday, more road closures cause by flooding are in effect in Wilmot, Woolwich, Wellesley townships and in Cambridge.

Total rainfall amounts in Waterloo region since Monday night have been between 40 and 60 mm, said Environment Canada in a release.
The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) Wednesday issued a flood warning for:
- City of Cambridge.
- Township of North Dumfries.
- Brant County.
- City of Brantford.
"An ice jam has developed in the City of Brantford through the dike reach," said GRCA in a release. "Levels are similar to those experienced during the 1996 ice jam."
Current road closures
The warm weather and snow melt has caused localized flooding across Southern Ontario, forcing some local townships and cities to close roads and evacuate residents.
Woolwich:

- Thomson Street at Inglis Street remains closed. The southbound lane of Blair Road by Langdon Road is closed.
- Public Works crews are dropping off sand and sandbags at the Ayr Community Centre west parking lot.

- Sideroad 6 between Second Line and Fourth Line is closed due to flooding and road conditions.
Wellesley:
- In Wellesley, Seignor Line and Manser Road between Deborah Glaister and Perth Line 7 remains closed.
Cambridge:
GRCA said an ice jam upstream of Parkhill Dam released at approximately 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, causing flooding in the Grand River between Cambridge and Brantford, similar to flood levels experienced in June of 2017.
As a result, Highway 24 from Myers Road to Ainslie Street remains closed.
