Public consultations on Stage 2 of ION LRT to Cambridge start soon

The Region of Waterloo is beginning public consultations on stage two of ION light rail transit, which would see the rail line extended from Kitchener to Cambridge.

The Region of Waterloo is beginning public consultations on stage two of ION light rail transit, which would see the rail line extended from Kitchener to Cambridge.

Eventually, riders will be able to take the LRT from Cambridge to Waterloo. 

The Region will be asking Cambridge and Kitchener residents to give feedback on the route endorsed by regional council, as well as to weigh in on alternative routes. 

The public consultations are:

  • November 18, 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Cambridge City Hall - Bowman Room, 50 Dickson St., Cambridge
  • November 19, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Kingsdale Community Centre, 72 Wilson Ave., Kitchener​

A second round of public consultation will be held in late 2016.
