Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne visited St. Jacobs Farmers' Market Thursday morning, the first day the market has been open since a huge fire destroyed the main market building Monday morning.

"It's great to be here to see the community spirit. That's what I've been... what I understand has really made this morning possible," she said.

Her thoughts were echoed by Woolwich Township Mayor Todd Cowan, who was touring the market.

"We're getting great support from the local community and the media, it's great to see the media here," he said.

"We are alive, we're rolling, the market's open, the fruit and vegetables are fabulous this morning. You'll see."

But Wynne cautioned that conversations about provincial aid to help rebuild the structure were premature.

"You know what, I think that conversation is premature. The investigation has just been done and we want to be as supportive as we can, but I just think in terms of specifics it's just too early," said Wynne as she entered the market.
